Psychological capital : its influence on the success orientation in sports of university athletes in La Union

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the psychological capital and level of success orientation. Specifically, it aims to determine the influence of psychological capital on the success orientation of university student-athletes. A descriptive correlation design was employed to analyze the variables in the study. Questionnaire were mainly used as the main instrument to gather the fata needed. The Don Mariano Marcos memorial state university mid la union campus was chosen as the locale of the study. A population of 216 students athletes playing athletics, volleyball, basketball and taekwondo are the study's respondents, a t-test was used to determine if there is a significant difference in the level of task and ego orientation when grouped into successful and non-successful athletes. multiple correlation and regression analyses were utilized to determine the relationship among the variables. regression analysis was conducted to determine which among personality traits and psychological resiliency beat predict success orientation among athletes.
