In view of the findings and conclusions of this study, the following are recommended: 1. More on social realism that may include the urban stories of NVM Gonzales should be undertaken to fully understand the social implications of his stories. 2. A comparative study with foreign authors on social realism that focuses on rituals and familial values should be conducted to exhibit the uniqueness of Filipino beliefs in supernatural and the distinctiveness of Filipino culture.
