In addition, writing is unbelievably flexible; individuals can utilize it to give data, a conclusion, or an inquiry. In any case, writing is a skill difficult to master. Generally, writing is done through paper and pen; however, numerous works today are going on through technology based medium. Numerous experts have investigated the utilization of technology in improving writing. It was found out that social media has been commonly used technology by people to express themselves in writing. In fact, researchers have shown that weblogs can positively help students improve their writing skills across social media sites. Blogs (short for “internet blogs”) are open, manipulable and customized online websites that are close to newspaper or magazines. Students can use it to compose personal feelings and express themselves. However, different challenges still exist in the use of blogs for writing. Writing errors are still inevitable. Especially, social media writing differs from academic writing. Although the occurrence of errors in the writing of second language users is painful and frustrating to both teachers and students, errors are important since errors shed light on the learning process. They are seen as a natural result that can hardly be avoided. At school and even at work, the ability to write in English has become a major requirement. Therefore, a lot of effort has been made to develop the writing skills of students. In relation to this, this research sought to identify the common blogpost writing errors and the level of common blogpost writing errors of the caregiving NC II students enrolled during the summer of S.Y 2018-2019 at Data Center College of the Philippines of Baguio City, Inc. The Study focused on most common blogpost writing errors of Caregiving students on their blogposts. Specifically, the study sought to answer the following questions: 1. What are the most common blogpost writing errors committed by students along: a. syntactical error, b. lexical error c. morphological error, and d. substance error? 2. What is the level of common blogpost writing errors of students along: a. syntactical error, b. lexical error, c. morphological error, and d. substance error? The following are the major findings of the study: 1.a The common blogpost errors of students along lexical errors are misused/omitted nouns, misused/omitted verbs, and errors in diction. Among these errors, misused/omitted verbs are the most common blogpost writing errors along lexical errors as detected by the interrater. 1.c The common blogpost errors of students along morphological errors are errors in s-v concord, errors in plural markers and misused verb form. Among these errors, misused verb forms are the most common blogpost writing along morphological errors as detected by the interrater. 1.d The common blogpost errors of students along substance errors are punctuation errors of students along substance errors are punctuation errors and spelling errors. Both punctuation errors and spelling have the same number of errors detected by the interrater. 2. The over-all level of common blogpost writing errors of the students is very low. Specifically: a. The level of common blogpost writing errors of students along syntactical errors is very low. b. The level of common blogpost writing errors of students along lexical errors is very low. c. The level of common blogpost writing errors of students along substance errors is very low. a. The level of common blogpost writing errors of students along substance is very low. Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions were derived: 1. Students still commit writing errors in their blogpost. 2. The students have an average of 0-2 errors in their blogpost. Therefore, students seldom commit writing errors. Based on the conclusions, the following are recommended: 1. Teachers in English have to be familiar with the different errors of students in their writing. 2. Teachers have to consider blogging as further supplemental aid in learning. 3. The workbook presented in the study can be used by English Proficiency teachers. The worksheet is designed to fill in the students’ gaps in the use of the English language and further enhance proficiency in writing and develop their interest and love for writing through blogging activities. 4. It is suggested that teachers and syllabus designer to consider focusing on errors in articles, prepositions, demonstrative and possessive adjectives, verbs, s-v concord, and verbs forms. 5. If further research should be conducted, there are consideration to improve the study. Future researchers can conduct a further study on a larger population since there are only 12 respondents of the study. Moreover, studies on effectiveness of blogging on the development of writing skills of students can be further explored by future researchers.en-USCommon blogpost writing error of studentsThesis
